Who is Ratan Tata’s Wife?

The name Ratan Tata is something that most of India has heard of. However, one may wonder why there isn’t much detail provided about Ratan Tata wife. Even when you look up Ratan Tata Spouse’ on different search engines, the most you’ll get is a vague answer.

There’s a simple reason for that — Ratan Tata is unmarried. However, he did admit that he, like many others, fell in love and even almost got married at one point.

In a chat with Humans of Bombay’, a famous Facebook page, Tata talked about his relationships, childhood, and his once almost-marriage. He revealed the fact about how he fell in love and how he felt the desire to get married and settle down with the person he adores. Unfortunately, this almost-marriage remains an untold history since it eventually fell apart. Tata said that one of the major reasons behind this doomed relationship was the Indo-China of 1962.

After college, Tata had secured a job in an architecture firm in LA. He recalled that he was having a great time of his life, flourishing in his field of work, falling in love, and thinking about marriage. Despite this, he had decided to move back because he had been away for a long time from his grandmother, who wasn’t doing well for at least seven years.

Because of this decision, Tata visited the woman and thought she would agree to come with him to India. However, due to the 1962 Indo-china war, her parents weren’t on board with the decision of moving with him.

Furthermore, Tata also disclosed that his parent’s divorce may have also brought personal discomfort and issues that majorly affected their relationships. When his mother remarried, the boys in the school would often talk badly to them, even to the extent of making up horrible stuff about them. His grandmother, however, had taught them to keep their dignity intact at all costs, which had made them think that walking away from such a situation was the better option to take.

Tata’s decision has highlighted his perspective on family and marriage. Even when faced with the alluring dream of pursuing life with a significant other, Tata still made the choice of returning back to India even if that meant losing his almost-partner. He admitted that he initially had no plans of returning back to India. However, Lady Navajbai, his grandmother, has fallen into a critical state and wants to see him.

While his grandmother survived the health crisis, her health only worsened over time, eventually prompting Tata to extend his stay in India. He emphasized that many of his achievements were because of his grandmother; she was the one who taught him to keep his feet on the ground and how the courage of speaking up can be both soft and dignified at the same time.

Tata may have had to make a difficult decision in the past, choosing between a lover and a relative, but the saying nonetheless remains true. Though not a wife, a spouse, or a lover, the woman behind Ratan Tata’s brilliant successes maybe his grandmother — a figure that he has long cherished and looked up for in his entire life.
