Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) was an Italian astronomer who revolutionized science in his time and the influence of his knowledge continues to this day. He was a genius of the Renaissance and was noted for making valuable discoveries that generated great controversy. Galilei was a fierce opponent of the Catholic Church, and as time went by, scientific arguments proved the Italian genius right. In addition to being an astronomer, Galilei was a physicist, engineer, mathematician and philosopher, achieving great accomplishments in these areas of knowledge. As for his love life, there was no Galileo Galilei wife. He maintained a stable relationship with Marina Gamba, but never married her.

Meeting Marina Gamba

Marina Gamba (1570-1612) was the sentimental partner of Galileo Galilei and the mother of the three illegitimate children he had with the famous astronomer. She was born in Venice, but spent most of her life living in Padua. Because of his many scientific activities, Galileo Galilei traveled to many places. On one of these trips, he met Marina and soon after took her to live with him in Padua. It is known that she was a poor woman and found in Galilei a breadwinner. However, Galileo Galilei spouse never existed, since the astronomer never wanted to marry her.

The patriarchy of that time

The love affair between Marina Gamba and Galileo Galilei testifies to the worst of the patriarchal society of that time. As a humble and unfortunate woman, Gamboa accepted the negative conditions that Galilei imposed on her. He never married her nor did he recognize her as his sentimental partner in front of others. At that time de facto love unions were frowned upon by society, something that does not happen today. Galileo was a socially important man and surely Gamba did not dare to argue with him.

Three illegitimate children

During the love affair between Galileo Galilei and Marina Gamba, three illegitimate children were born: Virginia, Livia and Vincenzo. Due to Galilei’s social position, in addition to his numerous friendships with the Italian nobility, he could not publicly acknowledge an illegitimate family. The astronomer decided the destiny of his children: Virginia and Livia were admitted to a convent and after a few years they became nuns. They lived in the convent all their lives. At that time the best destiny for illegitimate daughters was to become nuns, since they were not fit for marriage.

As for Vincenzo, he was the only one who received his father’s surname, since the astronomer decided to legitimize him.

Science over love life

There was no Galileo Galilei spouse in the life of the Italian physicist despite a de facto love affair with Marina Gamba. Evidently Galilei preferred science before formally marrying his partner. The physicist focused on his scientific work and everything else was secondary to him.

It should also be remembered that the astronomer had a terrible relationship with the Catholic Church. The Roman Inquisition considered him a suspect of heresy and condemned him to house arrest until his death. For all these reasons, Galilei would never marry through the Catholic Church.

Sexism

Galileo Galilei had three illegitimate children and decided the fate of each of them according to their gender. He imposed on his daughters, Virginia and Livia, a religious life by having them enter a convent. That was considered dignified and they eventually became nuns. With his son Vincenzo, however, everything was different. Since he was a man, Galileo did want to recognize him before the law and gave him his surname. The astronomer also managed to get his son a noble title: Grand Duke of Tuscany. Galilei’s behavior reflects the sexism of the time, something that is slowly being eradicated in the West.

Conclusion

Marina Gamba was Galileo Galilei’s faithful companion throughout the years, allowing the physicist to achieve all his scientific goals. However, there was no Galileo Galilei wife in the destiny of the Italian genius for several reasons. He was at odds with the Catholic Church and would never have married. On the other hand, Galilei was totally dedicated to scientific activity and downplayed the importance of everything else. Reflecting the times, Gamba accepted the conditions that his partner imposed on him and never defended her own interests nor those of their children.

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790), one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, was a man of extraordinary transcendence in his country and also in the rest of the world as an example of freedom and democracy. Franklin was a politician who defended the freedom and independence of the United States, but he was also a polymath who excelled in various areas of knowledge such as science, physics and journalism. There were several factors that made it possible for Franklin to be the outstanding man he was and one of those determining factors was his wife, the British Deborah Read. Benjamin Franklin wife was the ideal partner for the politician to achieve everything he did.

The beginning of a love story

Beginning of love story

Benjamin Franklin met Deborah Read in Philadelphia when he was 18 and she was 17. The politician liked the beautiful woman as soon as he saw her and managed to start dating her. Franklin was a regular visitor to Deborah’s house and eventually the two fell in love. He proposed to her but her mother would not allow them to marry because they were too young. The polymath left for England for two years and lost contact with Deborah. During that period Deborah’s mother forced her to marry John Rogers, a potter. He acquired many debts and fled to the West Indies, where he was murdered. However, his death could never be confirmed. Deborah never saw Rogers again.

A complicated marriage

complicated marriage

Benjamin Franklin returned to Philadelphia and again asked Deborah to marry him, but she did not accept at first. She argued that she was not going to marry anyone until the death of her husband John Rogers was confirmed. Time passed and Rogers did not return and his death could not be confirmed.

Deborah finally agrees to marry Franklin. They were married on September 1, 1730 as a common-law marriage, since they did not have the religious or civil permissions to do so. However, the friends and family of the young couple supported their decision. Later, Benjamin Franklin wife exerted a powerful influence on the politician’s life.

Children

children holding hands

Benjamin Franklin and Deborah Read had two children, a boy, Francis and a girl, Sarah. Sadly Francis died at the age of 4 from smallpox. This tragedy devastated his parents psychologically. The politician suffered bitterly the death of his son but thanks to the love of his wife Deborah he was able to cope. Franklin focused on his many projects and continued to be a man of extraordinary success despite having experienced the worst loss a human being can experience. The politician had a son out of wedlock and took care of him in every way, counting on the unconditional support of his wife.

A perfect partner

perfect partner

Franklin ran a thriving family business that required a lot of time to develop. Deborah decided to take over the business so that her husband could focus exclusively on political activity, which was most important to Franklin. Deborah strived to be the ideal wife. Her goal was for Franklin to achieve everything he wanted in life. The politician’s great mission was to achieve freedom and independence for the United States. His wife realized all of this and supported Franklin so that he would feel fulfilled. Benjamin Franklin wife represented a motivational force in the politician’s life, someone he trusted completely.

His dark side

Benjamin Dark Side

Throughout history there were several documents that affirmed that Benjamin Franklin had a double life beyond his exemplary marriage. The politician frequented orgies that he carried out with several friends. They had relationships with mature prostitutes and always tried to be discreet about it, but everything ended up coming to light. Many suppose that Deborah, his wife, was aware of everything that was going on, but she preferred to ignore the matter because Franklin occupied too important a place in the development of the United States as a country and economic power. Benjamin Frankin wife prioritized her husband’s political career before her own claims as a partner.

Conclusion

Benjamin Franklin wife had a significant influence in the life of the polymath for him to reach his enormous achievements in politics, science, physics and other areas. Franklin is the great American super hero thanks to the temperance of this smart woman.

We all know the famous name of Albert Einstein, but how many of us know his wife? In this article, we’ll focus on Albert Einstein Spouse life and what it was like to be married to one of the world’s most famous inventors. As a woman who lived during the 20th century, her life was not easy. Regardless, she did not let her circumstances deter her from doing what she loved – educating herself and becoming an advocate for women in science and education.

Albert Einstein’s Wives

Albert Einstein had not one, but two wives.

The first was a college classmate named Mileva Maric. They had a daughter together before they divorced in 1902. The second wife was Elsa Lowenthal, who he married in 1919 and divorced in 1936.

Mileva Maric

Mileva Maric wife of Albert Einstein
source: Wikipedia

Mileva’s contributions to Einstein’s work are extremely important because she helped him with his math homework and corrected his calculations. Although her contributions were vital, they were not accepted by the academic community. She was female and from a lower social class than Einstein (he came from a wealthy family). This led to their eventual separation and divorced after many years of marriage.

They had a son together, but then he left her

When they married in 1919, Albert Einstein was already an established physicist. His wife (a physicist) had to take care of their son and his father’s intellectual accomplishments. Einstein was a very busy man and had little time to raise their son, Eduard. He left it up to his wife to provide childcare and ultimately divorced her in 1936.

Einstein and Mileva only had one child together – a son named Eduard. After his parents divorced, Eduard legally changed his last name from Einstein to Curie as he wanted nothing more to do with Albert Einstein after what he did to Mileva.

Many people know about Mileva as Einstein’s first wife but don’t know she was also a physicist who contributed to the invention of the world’s first nuclear reactor alongside him.

Mileva is often overlooked because she is not given credit for her contributions or her role in history.

Einstein divorced Maric when she became pregnant with another man’s child.

Maric and Einstein divorced in 1919 because she had an affair with her first cousin.

Maric was a cultured woman who loved to read and paint. She was a professor of mathematics and physics at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich, Switzerland.

Maric met Albert Einstein at a family party when she was 20 years old. According to the marriage agreement, if they were to have children, their surname would be Einstein’s. Maric and Einstein were married for six years before they separated.

Then he married his cousin, Elsa Lowenthal

Elsa Lowenthal wife of Albert Einstein
source: Biography

When Einstein and Elsa first met, they were both teenagers and were immediately attracted to each other. Elsa was an intellectual, and she and Einstein bonded over their mutual love of science. They got engaged in 1903, but the engagement did not last long.

Elsa’s father objected to her marrying a Jew and decided to end the relationship by sending her to Switzerland. However, her father eventually changed his mind, returning home after four months abroad. The couple married in 1919 when Einstein divorced his first wife, Mileva Maric.

He and Elsa had no children together.

Einstein’s wife, Elsa, was a woman of many talents. She was an educator and an advocate for women in science. She also helped to raise Einstein’s youngest son. Though she never had children of her own, Elsa played an important role in the lives of others.

Though she never had children with Einstein, her marriage to him allowed her to be there for his children. When he died in 1955, she became guardian for his youngest son, Eduard, who was just 11 years old at the time.’

Einstein once said that he would have liked to have had two children with Elsa – one who would be a boy and one who would be a girl. This is not what happened; they had no children together. But by playing this role as mother for his youngest son, Elsa could leave behind something meaningful for the world.

Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was an Italian painter who became the greatest exponent of the Renaissance due to his extraordinary talent. Da Vinci stood out mainly as a painter, in fact he was the creator of the most famous painting of all times: Mona Lisa. However, the artist was a polymath individual, that is, someone who excelled in many fields. The talented painter excelled in philosophy, architecture, sculpture, among others. Da Vinci never married, had no children and was never romantically involved with a woman. Leonardo da Vinci wife never existed, but it is worth mentioning that the Italian genius got along very well with women.

A private life kept to himself

private life

Leonardo da Vinci was described as a pleasant, handsome, caring and generous man, among other virtues. He was a very private individual about his private life and never expressed himself about his love life. In the course of time, several historical documents revealed that Da Vinci was homosexual and that his love affairs with men were lived in the most absolute reserve. Regarding women, it can be said that he highly valued the feminine essence and expressed it through numerous paintings. Throughout his life he forged friendships with several women, which enriched him as an individual.

Deductions

deduction

The homosexuality of da Vinci is a subject that has aroused enormous interest in historians all over the world. They have deduced that da Vinci was homosexual because in his daily life and social relationships he showed more interest in men than in women. In fact, only two of his paintings show female nudes, while he painted several male nudes. There was no Leonardo da Vinci spouse in the life of the great artist. However, he exalted femininity as a creative, loving force worthy of veneration. He was also the painter who best captured female physical beauty in his works.

A lasting relationship

lasting relationship

It is known that da Vinci had affairs with several young and handsome men, but only two romances have come to light thanks to various historical documents: Salai and Melzi. Da Vinci met Salai, whose real name was Gian Giacomo Caprotti da Oreno, when he was 28 years old and Salai was only 10. Salai was a model and assistant to the great Renaissance artist. The young boy was of humble origins and da Vinci found it difficult to educate him because he was mischievous and rebellious. For 25 years they kept their romance a secret as homosexuality was severely punished at that time.

Favorite pupil

favorite pupil

Da Vinci had another important love relationship in his life: Francesco Melzi. The young boy was da Vinci’s favorite pupil, as well as his assistant and secretary. Melzi belonged to the upper class of Milan and was cultured and educated. Melzi inspired several of da Vinci’s works and was also a model for some of his paintings. At first they maintained a “teacher-pupil” relationship, but later they had an affair for several years. The two vacationed in Vaprio, in a villa belonging to the Melzi family. When da Vinci died, Melzi married a beautiful upper-class girl from Milan and they had eight children.

Admiration

admiration

Leonardo da Vinci was a Renaissance genius who always sought to evolve through knowledge. He never had a Leonardo da Vinci wife, but the famous painter had an important reference to admire. He was Leon Alberti, a Genoese mathematical genius. Alberti applied this knowledge to studies of architecture and perspective. He also excelled as a topographer, astronomer and geographer. Alberti was very similar to da Vinci, as they both sought to acquire a great deal of knowledge in various fields in order to evolve as individuals. Today you can appreciate two of Alberti’s architectural works: Palazzo Rucealli and the Basilica Santa Maria della Novella.

Conclusion

Although there was never a Leonardo da Vinci spouse, the famous Italian artist was able to draw inspiration from diverse references, as well as evolve as a person thanks to his friendship with women. The Italian master grew every day of his life as an individual and as an artist to achieve an extraordinary scope of his work.

Beyond his private life, the painter had a unique talent that transcends all ages. Da Vinci was a man ahead of his time who transformed universal art.

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a Serbian-born, naturalized American inventor who excelled extensively in physics, mechanics and electrical engineering. Tesla had an enormous influence on the development of science and technology today, although he chose to be a hermit and never pursued recognition, although he was famous. What is known about him privately is that his love life was null. Tesla never had a girlfriend, never married and never had children. Nikola Tesla wife never existed since he preferred to devote himself completely to his work, which was a very respectable decision. The scientist led a celibate life but later questioned himself whether he had sacrificed too much for science.

A unique personality

unique personalities

Nikola Tesla firmly decided not to share his life with any woman, but he did develop a romantic love for pigeons. The scientist personally saw to it that the pigeons he knew were well fed and in perfect health. Incredible as it may seem, Tesla specifically fell in love with a pigeon and he sensed that this bird was also in love with him. Over time, he became obsessed with this pigeon, which became the reason for his life. He even claimed that he loved this pigeon in the same way that a man loves a woman.

His perspective on women

Beautiful Grass

Nikola Tesla spouse was non-existent, yet the scientist held a perspective on women. In 1924 he gave an interview where he explained that he would never marry. When he was young he felt that women were far beyond his reach. As time went on he was committed to science and was no longer interested in maintaining a romantic relationship with any woman. However, Tesla aroused the interest of many women because of his fame, intelligence and genius. However, he did not become romantically involved with any of the women who were interested in him.

A respectable way of thinking

thingking

Throughout his life, people who knew Tesla questioned his decision to remain celibate. He always responded that sexuality could be an obstacle that would hinder him from achieving his goals in technology. Many infer that chastity was the reason for his genius, which is debatable. The reality is that Tesla made countless contributions to science, improved the quality of people’s lives and made numerous inventions. In the course of time, it became known that Tesla suffered from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), was fanatical about hygiene and avoided social gatherings.

A sensitive soul

sensitive bubbles

Nikola Tesla never had a relationship with a woman, but he was in love with one, his cousin Milica Mandic. At the age of 17 the scientist became seriously ill with cholera and once he recovered he went on vacation with his parents to Tomingaj, a village in Croatia where his family had a rest house. There he met Milica and fell in love with her immediately. He felt ashamed of having fallen in love with his cousin and preferred to love her in silence. Although there was never a Nikola Tesla wife, the scientist did value women. Tesla confessed in an interview in 1927 that he had never touched a woman and preferred to remain single.

A romance that never materialized

relationship that never materialize

Tesla had a close friend named Laza Kostic, a talented Serbian poet. Kostic knew Lenka Dundjerski, a wealthy heiress of great beauty. She was cultured, elegant and kind-hearted. The poet thought that Lenka and Nikola were the ideal couple. He wrote a letter to the scientist telling him that he should meet Lenka and marry her because she was a woman of many virtues. Tesla replied that he was not interested in marriage, as he felt “married” to science.

Conclusion

Nikola Tesla’s null love life helps to better understand the brilliant inventor. Although there was never a Nikola Tesla spouse, the scientist preferred to marry science because his priorities were work and research. The fact that he was single and childless made it possible for Tesla to devote himself entirely to his true interests: mechanics, physics and technology. Reality indicates that he was comfortable with this lifestyle, although in his old age he asked himself if he had not sacrificed too much for science. Tesla had the satisfaction of living according to his ideals, ignoring the opinions of others.

Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922) was a British inventor, speech therapist and scientist world famous for having patented the invention of the telephone, among many other achievements. Bell also excelled in various research on speech and listening, becoming an excellent teacher of deaf-mute students, who made great progress thanks to his talent as an instructor. Bell achieved success due to several causes and the most important was his wife, the American Mabel Gardiner Hubbard (1857-1923), who after marrying the inventor began to be called Mabel Bell. Alexander Graham Bell wife was the most powerful inspiration in the life of the scientist.

The beginning of the love story

Couple running while holding hands

Alexander Graham Bell and Mabel Gardiner Hubbard met in 1875, when he was 28 and she was 18. During that time Bell was working hard as a speech therapist to instruct people with hearing problems. The beautiful young woman had been completely deaf since the age of 5 because she had suffered from scarlet fever. Bell fell in love with her as soon as he saw her, but she ignored him because she didn’t like him. As they get to know each other she surprisingly falls madly in love with him, who was her speech teacher. They marry two years after they meet and have four children together.

An inspiring love

inspiring couple

Bell had a deep empathy for deaf-mute people as his mother was deaf and not coincidentally he eventually marries Mabel, a young woman who is also deaf. Her father, Gardiner Greene Hubbard, a successful businessman, was very fond of Bell, his son-in-law. He decided to promote and financially support Bell’s projects. Alexander Graham Bell wife became an unconditional partner for the inventor, as she was the key to many of his achievements.

Mabel, the key to a huge success

True Happiness

Bell had to attend the Universal Exposition in Philadelphia to present his greatest invention: the telephone. The scientist did not want to go because he was working full time as a speech therapist and was preparing students for important exams. His wife Mabel insisted intensely for him to attend the exhibition, but he did not want to go. So she decided to buy a train ticket for him to go to the exhibition. Bell finally attended the exhibition and his invention, the telephone, became an international success. That invention brought Bell much satisfaction, including financial success.

Tragedy

Tragedy

Bell and his wife Mabel had four children: two girls, Elsie and Marian and two boys, Edward and Robert. Sadly, the two boys died shortly after birth. This tragedy morally crushed both Bell and Mabel, who after this misfortune dedicated themselves to protect the two daughters. Mabel’s calm and confident personality helped the couple overcome this tragedy. Bell focused on his work and Mabel was the inventor’s ideal partner in the hardest moments. Bell and his wife traveled much of the world due to the commercial success of the scientist, which helped them both to get ahead despite the loss of two of their children.

Admiration

Admiration

Bell was inspired by the deafness suffered by his mother and wife to become an outstanding speech therapist so that his students could evolve in speech and hearing within their possibilities. The scientist made great contributions in the fields of telecommunications and aviation, among others. It should be noted that Bell had great admiration for his father Alexander Bell and his brothers Edward and Melville, who excelled in the teaching of speech. The scientist learned from his family to work with enthusiasm for great goals that would benefit society as a whole.

Together until the end

Hands reaching each other

Alexander Graham Bell and Mabel Gardiner Hubbard were together for 45 years and were only separated by the scientist’s death. Bell died from complications brought on by his illness, diabetes mellitus.

They had a harmonious marriage thanks to their love for each other. In addition, Alexander Graham Bell wife had a pleasant temperament and knew how to give the inventor the space he needed to work hard on his projects and reach his desired goals.

When Bell was about to die, Mabel asked him not to leave her and he said “No” in sign language. Within minutes he died, leaving Mabel devastated. She died just five months after he did.

Sir Isaac Newton never had a Spouse. He never married.

During his lifetime, Sir Isaac Newton made substantial contributions to science. He invented calculus, giving us a better grasp of optics than anyone else. Newton’s most important work was on gravitational theory when it comes to physics.

Poor farmer’s son turned famous physicist and mathematician. Fortunately for humanity, Newton was sent to Cambridge to become a preacher since he was a lousy farmer. Newton majored in mathematics at Cambridge, where Euclid, Baconian, and Cartesian thought heavily influenced him. As a result of the disease, Newton was compelled to leave Cambridge, producing many of his most important discoveries.

Isaac Newton Wife

Isaac Newton Wife

Newton gained a household name in 1689 when he was elected to the House of Commons to represent the University of Cambridge. Royal Society president: He was elected in 1703, a position that he still holds. In 1705, Queen Anne bestowed the honor of a knighthood on him. He never had a wife or a family.

Newton died at the age of 84 in 1727. After his death, his body was relocated to a more prominent location in Westminster Abbey. Significant levels of mercury were found in the scientist’s system during the exhumation, most likely due to his alchemical activity.

Personal Relations

While in London for the funeral of Sir Isaac Newton, Voltaire wrote that he “was never sensible to any passion, was not subject to the normal frailties of mankind, nor had any commerce with women—a fact which was confirmed me by… the physician and surgeon who attended him in his final moments.” In the wake of this widely held idea that he passed away as a virgin, Charles Hutton, John Maynard Keynes, and Carl Sagan have all spoken on the subject.

Newton had a close friendship with Nicolas Fatio de Duillier, a Swiss mathematician he met in London in 1689.

Both of these events occurred simultaneously: Newton’s friendship with his friends Samuel Pepys and John Locke came to an abrupt end in 1693, and he had a psychological breakdown. Locke “endeavors to embroil me with ladies,” he wrote in a letter to the latter.

Isaac Newton

In a letter to Robert Hooke in February 1676, It was because he was standing on the shoulders of giants, according to Newton, that he could see further. In addition to being a statement of humility, two scholars claim that Newton’s remark was written during a debate with Hooke regarding optical findings as an oblique attack on Hooke (who was reported to be short and hunchbacked). The well-known proverb about standing on the shoulders of giants, popularized by 17th-century poet George Herbert (a former orator of the University of Cambridge and fellow of Trinity College) in his Jacula Prudentum (1651), had as its central point that “a dwarf on a giant’s shoulders sees farther of the two.” In this way, Newton would be the “dwarf” in the analogy, not Hooke.

Newton wrote in a later memoir that the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before him. In his mind, he seemed to have been “just like a youngster playing on the sea-shore and distracting myself in locating a smoother pebble or a nicer shell than average,” he claimed.

Physics Nobel Prize winner Steven Weinberg described Newton in 2015 as “a vicious antagonist” who would make an awful foe. He notably highlighted Newton’s attitude toward Robert Hooke and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.

In light of these and other characteristics, including his extraordinary ability to focus, it has been speculated that Newton may have had Asperger’s syndrome, a kind of high-functioning autism.

The Conclusion

Sir Isaac Newton had no Wife. Sir Isaac Newton’s father was Isaac Newton Sr., and his mother was Hannah Ayscough. Contrary to popular belief, however, Sir Isaac Newton was never married.

Perhaps the loss of his father before he was even born, or the mother’s remarriage to another guy she didn’t like throughout his youth had anything to do with it. A person’s outlook on adult relationships can be skewed by their childhood experiences. Isaac Newton was in love with science and his work as a scientist, and it’s true. He stayed up late every night working in his laboratory.

The scientific revolution would not have happened without Isaac Newton, who went on to become one of the most influential scientists of all time.

Indeed, he embodies the conventional bachelor of science. Undoubtedly, historians are very confident that he died a virgin. Chastity and science are not mutually exclusive, but they were for old Isaac.

Apart from being an atheist, he was almost certainly homosexual and was undoubtedly more motivated by the mind and intellect than worldly pursuits such as love, fortune, or celebrity.

Clara and Henry Ford’s Love Story

Clara and Henry first met in 1885 at a New Year’s Dance hosted in Michigan. And it was then that they fell in love. Even though they both come from farmer households, it was their first encounter. As a result, they entered the courtship stage almost immediately. They enjoyed dancing, sailing on lakes, and husking as recreational activities.

Henry’s great mechanical ability was noted by Clara in Ford Bryan’s book, who stated that she has always voiced her admiration for Henry’s exceptional mechanical ability. While Clara’s thankful and sincere yet serious demeanours excite Henry, her appreciation and genuine yet serious behaviours impress Henry even more. They were always convinced that they were meant to be together.

They were engaged within a year of meeting for the first time. However, because Clara was just 19, her mother requested that the wedding be postponed for two years. The couple agreed to postpone the wedding.

The promise was fulfilled two years later on Henry Ford spouse’s 22nd birthday. Henry Ford, then 24 years old, tied the knot with the only love of his life, Clara Jane. The simple wedding took place in Greenfield Township, Michigan, and everyone there was truly thrilled for them and their families. Henry Ford even believes that day to be the happiest day of his life, because he was reunited with his wife.

In 1893, Clara and Henry had one child named Edsel Ford.

We all come up with a particular point in our life where we fall in love. They say, falling in love is such a magical feeling in the world. It feels like you can conquer any hardships in life as long as you are together.

Thomas Edison, we all know him as the developer of different devices such as mass communication, motion pictures, sound recorder, phonograph, camera, and the earliest design of light bulbs. One thing that inspired him to do these inventions was the Civil War. Isaac Newton also became his role model and the inspiration to invent useful things. Now, his creations have paved their way through the times of modernity.

However, Thomas Edison was just like any other person on the planet. He fell in love with his first wife, Mary Stilwell Edison.

Mary Stilwell Edison was born on September 6, 1855, in Newark in New Jersey. Thomas Edison has seen Mary Stilwell at one of his Telegraph stores where Mary is working.

At the early age of 16, Mary Stilwell decided to marry 24-year-old Thomas Edison. They became an official husband and wife on Christmas Day of 1871. Their marriage blooms into one happy and big family, and they have three children.

Marion Estelle Edison Oeser was the firstborn of the married couple. Born on February 18, 1873, she was nicknamed by her parents “Dot,” this was inspired by the Morse code used in sending the messages through telegraphs.

The second-born child of the couple is Thomas Alva Edison, Jr. He was born on January 10, 1876. His nickname “Dash” was a reference to her sister. He was sent to enter the St. Paul’s learning facility in Concordat, New Hampshire, and later transferred to the J.M. Hawkins School located at the Staten Island in New York.

Thomas Alva Edison Jr. Married his first wife, Marie Louise, a stage performer, in 1899. However, their marriage didn’t work, ending in just a year. He married his second wife, Beatrice Heyzer, with whom he shared the rest of his life.

On October 26, 1878, William Leslie was born and became the third child of Thomas and Mary Edison. He followed his brother’s footsteps and joined the same school that Thomas Jr. attended. However, creating his path, William takes the chance to study in Sheffield Scientific School located in Yale. He also tests his luck. He joined the military and served throughout the Spanish-American War in 1898. Later on, William married his wife, Blanche Travers.

Thomas and Mary have been happily married for thirteen (13) years. However, due to her illness of brain congestion, known as a hemorrhagic stroke today, Mary Stilwell died at the young age of 29 in 1884.

Thomas’ grieving for the death of his wife ended for two (2) years when he met his second wife.

Mina Miller Edison became the second wife of Thomas. Thomas Edison was already known as a famous inventor when they married each other. Many people said that Mina was the most suitable spouse for Thomas as she achieved in a respected school and her father was also an inventor.

Mina and Thomas met each other through a friend of her father. Thomas claims that he taught Mina how to communicate using the Morse code to send messages to each other secretly. The Morse code also was the way Thomas proposes marriage to Mina.

At the age of 20, Mina married 39 years old Thomas and became a stepmother to the three children of Mary. Mina was just a couple of years older than Marion, the firstborn child of Mary and Thomas.

Mina and Thomas also had three children, namely Madeleine Edison, the oldest child. Charles Edison, the middle child, also was in charge of overlooking his father’s company and taking control of the experiments left when his father died. Charles also became the Governor of New Jersey. The last and youngest child of Mina and Thomas is Theodore Miller Edison.

At a young age, Mina experienced the hard work of being the wife of Thomas. Mina became the in-charge of all the chores in the house. She even supervised and hired other staff to help her in the house. Sooner, Mina became the sole owner of the house.

Thomas Edison died first before his wife, Mina, on August 24, 1947.
